About 

Mahathikthakam Kashayam is a classical Ayurvedic herbal decoction made from a combination of bitter-tasting herbs (“Tikta Dravyas”). It is one of the most important medicines in Ayurveda for skin disorders, inflammatory diseases, liver disorders, and metabolic imbalances.

The formulation is especially useful in Psoriasis, Eczema, Dermatitis, Non-healing ulcers, Jaundice, and Rheumatism, as it cleanses the body and pacifies Pitta and Kapha doshas.

Dosage & Administration

• Adult dose: 10–15 ml diluted with 60 ml warm water, once or twice daily, before food

• Children: 5–10 ml diluted with warm water, or as directed by physician

• Usually prescribed for short-term use (2–6 weeks) in skin and liver diseases

• Can be combined with Ghritham or Gulika formulations for enhanced effect

Precautions

• Should be taken only under the guidance of an Ayurvedic physician

• Avoid in pregnancy and lactation unless prescribed

• May not suit individuals with low appetite or weak digestion due to bitter herbs

• Overdose may cause excessive dryness or gastric irritation

• Store in a cool, dry place and consume within the prescribed period
